Entangled Publishing author Tracy March talks about her novel Girl 3 and other upcoming books with host Dianemarie Collins of The DMZone.

Charlotte’s Web…Charlie and the Chocolate Factory…From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler…favorite stories like these fascinated me when I was a child. But when I read The Scarlet Letter in high school, I became completely captivated. Nathaniel Hawthorne enticed me with his haunting tale—his vivid characters and heady themes. Wild emotion and rule-breaking. Hypocrisy and judgment. Now that was a story!

Always looking for another bewitching tale, I became addicted to reading. After many years and even more books, I began to wonder if I could write a novel myself. So following careers in the tourism industry and big pharma, I set out give it a try. I knew something about provocative settings—I’d visited a few—and my experiences in the medical field had sparked plenty of enticing story ideas. To those I added political intrigue, contentious family relationships—and a little romance—and took to the keyboard.

Fast-forward through several years, countless words typed (and deleted!), and lots of lessons learned. Now a publisher has taken a chance on me, and I’m hoping readers will find an exciting escape in the stories I love to write. When I’m not reading or writing, I enjoy fitness, golf, and baseball—especially going to DC to see the Nationals play, and Saturday date nights (that usually include pizza and Dairy Queen Blizzards!).

I graduated from the University of Richmond and George Washington University, and I would have been happy being a lifetime student. Whether I’m in or out of school, I consider myself one anyway. I live in Yorktown, Virginia, with my superhero husband who works for NASA. We recently experienced two years living in Washington, D.C., where we discovered enough drama to inspire a lifetime of stories.
